Learn to Surf in Indonesia’s Famous Cimaja Beach

Surfing is one of the most exciting water sports in the world. You may have seen it on TV, in photos, or even worn surfing accessories — but nothing compares to the real experience of riding waves yourself. Indonesia is blessed with countless surf destinations, from Bali and Lombok to Banyuwangi and West Java. Cimaja Beach in Pelabuhan Ratu is especially popular for beginners, offering consistent waves and a welcoming surf community.

Now you can join our Weekend Surf Lesson Program and learn step by step how to surf safely and confidently.

Surf Lesson Program Content

Step 1 – Beginner Basics In the first stage, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of surfing. This includes understanding beach awareness and safety rules, learning about surf equipment, and practicing paddling techniques. You will also be guided on how to stand up (pop‑up) on the board and catch small waves in the white water. This step builds your confidence and prepares you for the next level.

Step 2 – Intermediate Progression Once you are comfortable with the basics, you will move on to riding waves toward the beach. You will practice acceleration and stalling techniques, improve your pop‑up positioning, and learn how to catch green waves. This stage helps you refine your skills and experience the thrill of surfing more independently.
